War of Words Starts – Apple vs. Palm

During its earnings conference, acting CEO Tim Cook made it quite clear that Apple are prepared to defend their intellectual property by the use of any weapons at their disposal. This veiled threat is obviously aimed, although unnamed, at Palm and the Palm Pre.
The reason for this cloaked threat is due to the Palm Pre incorporating features such as a multi-touch UI which is found in the iPhone. This is probably due to the Pre being spearheaded by ex-Apple head of hardware engineering Jon Rubenstein.
Palm is not afraid of any blustering from the Apple ranks and will not be bullied by mere words from Apple and in fact has said if faced with legal action are quite capable of defending themselves.
Will we soon be seeing legal confrontation between Apple and Palm?
